The Canadian Hatching Egg Producers (CHEP)<\/strong> play a vital role in ensuring a dependable supply of quality broiler hatching eggs to hatcheries across the country. Working closely with provincial boards, producers, and hatcheries, CHEP manages production through a coordinated system that supports stability and long-term growth. Their work helps ensure that Canadian chicken production remains reliable, efficient, and responsive to market demand. Highlight initiative: Strengthening Canada\u2019s chicken supply<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, CHEP worked with provincial hatching egg boards and hatcheries to establish a historic five-year agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developed in response to increasing uncertainty, including challenges such as avian influenza, shifting trade conditions, and potential supply chain disruptions, this agreement provides greater flexibility for producers to increase production when needed, while maintaining overall system stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In practical terms, it helps ensure more chicken can be raised in Canada, strengthens the domestic food supply chain, and supports a reliable supply of Canadian-produced food for Canadian families.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div>\n <\/div><\/div>\n\n\n
